A coupon can discount shipping as well as, or instead of, the products. Set it in Shipping discount type:
Free shipping: the customer pays no shipping.
Flat rate: the customer pays the amount in Flat rate shipping ($), for example $10.
Discounted shipping: takes the percentage in Discounted shipping (%) off the shipping, for example 50%.
Steps
Go to Settings > Coupons and open the coupon, or click + Add Coupon.
Set Shipping discount type to Free shipping, Flat rate or Discounted shipping, and enter the amount or percentage if asked.
For a shipping-only coupon, leave Discount type on None. For a product discount as well, set the Discount type too.
Add any conditions, such as Minimum Order Bottle Quantity 6 or Minimum Order Total 150.
Click Save.
Examples
Free shipping on 6 or more bottles: Minimum Order Bottle Quantity 6, Shipping discount type Free shipping.
6 bottles, 10% off and free shipping: Minimum Order Bottle Quantity 6, Discount type Percentage 10, Shipping discount type Free shipping.
$10 shipping this weekend: Shipping discount type Flat rate $10, Active? Active between Friday and Sunday.
What happens next
The shipping discount comes off the shipping WithWine works out from your shipping rates. See How to set up shipping rates
With Flat rate, if the customer's normal shipping is already cheaper (for example free shipping on big orders), they pay the cheaper amount.
Pick up orders have no shipping, so a shipping-only coupon makes no difference to them.
If the coupon also has a product discount, WithWine still gives each product the cheapest price the customer is entitled to. A wine that already has a cheaper 6-bottle price keeps that price, and the customer still gets the free shipping.
Free shipping all the time instead
If you want free shipping on every order over an amount, without a code, set it up in your shipping rates instead of a coupon. Or use a coupon with Auto apply set to Yes. See How do auto apply and combining coupons work?
Troubleshooting
The shipping didn't change: the customer's shipping was already cheaper than the coupon's flat rate, or the order is a pick up.
Free shipping didn't apply: check the coupon's conditions, such as the minimum quantity, and whether another coupon that can't be combined replaced it. See How do auto apply and combining coupons work?
