What's the difference between fixed and variable club pricing?

Fixed pricing charges members one set amount per club run, including shipping. Variable pricing charges for the wines selected, less member discounts.

Fixed Release and Editable Release clubs have a Pricing method: Fixed or Variable - Based on Selected Products.

Fixed

With Fixed pricing, members pay the Charge amount for every club run, whatever wines are in the pack and whatever the shipping costs. The Charge amount includes shipping. For example, if the Charge amount is $200, members pay $200 for each club run.

Variable - Based on Selected Products

With Variable pricing, members pay the price of the wines in their pack, less any discounts they're entitled to, such as their club member discount.

Free shipping on club runs is only available with Variable pricing, because a Fixed charge already includes shipping. See What benefits can I give club members?.

Pricing in Subscription clubs

Subscription clubs don't have a Pricing method. Members pay the price of the wines they've chosen, less their member discount and any other discount they're entitled to.

Pricing in Editable Release clubs

  • Variable pricing: members must choose at least the Bottle quantity, for example 6 bottles, and can choose more.

  • Fixed pricing: members must choose exactly the Bottle quantity. For example, if Bottle quantity is 12, members choose exactly 12 bottles.
