Your loyalty program gives customers credit automatically when they spend with you. You choose what customers earn credit on, which credit class the credit belongs to, how long the credit lasts, and the spending tiers customers need to reach.
Before you start
Decide which credit class loyalty credit should belong to. The credit class decides what customers can spend their loyalty credit on. You can use the Everything credit class, or create your own. See How to create a credit class.
If you only want some customers to earn loyalty credit, set up your customer groups first.
Step 1: Set up the loyalty program
Go to Settings > Loyalty & Credit.
In the Loyalty Program section, under Credit can be earned on, tick each type of purchase that should earn credit: Wine, Cider, Beer, Spirits, Other products, Shipping, Club runs, Gift cards and Excluded products. All options start unticked. For example, tick Wine and Other products so customers earn credit on wine and merchandise, but not on club run orders.
In Credit earned has the following class, choose the credit class for loyalty credit.
In Credit earned has an expiry of, enter how many months loyalty credit lasts before it expires. The default is 12 months.
Select Save. The Loyalty Program Tiers section appears.
Step 2: Add your loyalty program tiers
Customers earn loyalty credit by reaching a tier. The loyalty program doesn't give any credit until you add at least one tier.
In the Loyalty Program Tiers section, select Add Tier.
In Spend Required ($), enter how much a customer needs to spend to reach the tier, for example 500.
In Within (months), enter the number of months the spending must happen within, for example 12.
In % Back as Credit, enter the percentage of each order the customer gets back as credit, for example 5.
Optional: in Customer Group, choose a customer group if only customers in that group should get this tier.
Optional: in (Excluded) Customer Group, choose a customer group that should not get this tier.
Select Save.
To add another tier, for example 10% back once a customer spends $1,000, select Add Tier again and repeat these steps.
What happens next
Customers earn loyalty credit on purchases through every sales channel, including your website and your cellar door point of sale (POS). Customers can only spend loyalty credit on your website. See How customers use their credit. When a customer pays for an order, WithWine checks whether the customer has reached a tier. If the customer has, WithWine gives the customer loyalty credit at the time of payment. The customer can see their credit balance on their email receipt, at checkout on your website and in the WithWine app. See How loyalty program tiers work for worked examples.
Troubleshooting
A customer didn't earn loyalty credit. Check that:
the customer's spending in the tier's time period has reached the Spend Required ($) amount. Only the parts of orders ticked under Credit can be earned on count.
the products bought aren't on your Excluded products list. See How to stop credit being earned or spent on certain products.
the customer isn't left out of the tier by Customer Group or (Excluded) Customer Group.
