The Design Email step is where you build the email. The email is made of blocks, such as a heading, some text, an image and a button. You select a block to change it in the side panel, and use the Styles tab to change the whole email.
The blocks you can add
Heading: a title, at level H1, H2 or H3.
Text: paragraphs of text.
Button: a button that links to a web page.
Image: a picture. See How to add images to an email.
Avatar: a small round image, such as a photo of your winemaker.
Divider: a line between sections.
Spacer: empty space between blocks.
Html: your own HTML code.
Columns: places blocks side by side.
Container: groups blocks together, for example to give them a shared background colour.
Cart: a pre-filled shopping cart. See How to use the Cart block to send customers a pre-filled cart.
How to add, move, copy or delete a block
To add a block, click the + between two blocks and choose the block.
To move a block, hover over the block and drag the block, or use the move up and move down arrows.
To copy a block, hover over the block and click duplicate.
To delete a block, hover over the block and click the trash icon. The block is deleted straight away, without a confirmation.
How to change a block
Click the block in the email.
The block's settings open in the Inspect tab of the side panel.
Change the content and settings. Changes show in the email straight away.
How to change the whole email's look
Click an empty area outside the blocks, or open the Styles tab in the side panel. The Styles tab changes the whole email:
Backdrop color: the colour around the email.
Canvas color: the colour behind the email's content.
Canvas border color and Canvas border width (px): a border around the email.
Font family: the font for the email. Match email settings is the default.
Text color: the default colour for text.
How to preview and save
Click Preview to see the email as customers will, and switch between the desktop and mobile views.
Click Save Draft (or Save Template) to save your work. A message confirms "Draft saved successfully!"
Click Back to return to Email Details.
Troubleshooting
The placeholder text from the template is still in the email. Template placeholder text that you haven't replaced isn't sent. Replace the placeholder text with your own text, or delete the block.
The "Your image" picture is still in the email. Placeholder images are sent if you leave them in. Replace or delete every placeholder image before sending.
I deleted a block by mistake. Add the block again with +,.
A blank white page says 403 Forbidden when I upload an image. WithWine's firewall blocked hidden information in the image file. Open the image on your computer, export it as a new file (for example, File > Export in Preview on a Mac, or File > Save as in Paint on Windows), then upload the new file. See Why am I getting a 403 Forbidden error?
A blank white page says 403 Forbidden after I paste text or HTML. Hidden code in the pasted text, or a script in pasted HTML, triggered WithWine's firewall. Paste without formatting (Ctrl + Shift + V on Windows; on a Mac, Cmd + Shift + V in Chrome or Option + Shift + Cmd + V in Safari) and remove any script code.
