Tags are labels you choose, such as "VIP", "Shiraz lover" or "Long lunch 2026". Use them to group customers, then filter the Customers screen (WithWine's CRM) by tag to email or reward them.
Customer tags are different from order tags. Customer tags stay with the customer; order tags are added to a single order.
How to tag one customer
Click Customers in the left-hand menu, then click the customer's name.
Open the Tags tab (hover over the icons under the buttons to find it).
Click Edit Tags.
Type a tag. Choose an existing tag from the list, or click + Add new tag "..." to create it.
To remove a tag, click the × on it.
Click Done.
How to tag many customers at once
On the Customers screen, tick the customers you want, or filter the list to them. See "How to select customers, orders or club members for bulk actions".
Click Bulk Actions > Manage Tags.
On the Add/Update Tags tab, choose or add tags in Select or add tags to apply to the listed customers.
Click Apply to [number] customers.
Check the number in the Confirm Batch Add message and click OK.
Click OK on the Success message, then Close.
You can also change one customer's tags in the same window: click Edit Tags (or Add Tags) next to their name.
To remove a tag from many customers, use the Bulk Remove Tags tab.
Other ways to tag customers
When you add a customer: Add Tags on the + Add Customer form.
When you import customers: the Tags column, or Import all as... to give every imported customer the same tag.
How to find tagged customers
On the Customers screen, click Filters and use and tagged as. See "How to find customers using filters".
Troubleshooting
A new tag doesn't appear in the tag filter. Refresh your browser. The tag list loads when the page opens.
