What is a mix?

A mix is a group of bottles sold as one product, such as a mixed 6-pack. WithWine can track stock for the mix and for each bottle in it.

A mix is a group of bottles sold together as one product, such as a mixed 6-pack or a 12-bottle case. A mix has its own name, price, SKU code and photo.

Mix items

You can tell WithWine which bottles are in a mix. These are the mix items. When a mix sells, WithWine also takes the mix items out of stock. For example, selling one mix of 3 × Shiraz and 3 × Grenache takes 3 bottles off each wine's stock.

If a bottle in the mix has stock tracking on, its stock goes down when the mix sells, even if stock tracking is off for the mix itself.

Mix sizes

A mix is 6 bottles unless you change it. The smallest number of bottles in the mix sets its size, and you choose exactly that many mix items. You can add prices for larger amounts, but only in multiples of that size. For example, a 6-bottle mix can also have a price for 12 or 18 bottles, but not 15.

Counting stock for a mix

A mix's stock can be counted in bottles (the default) or in mixes. This changes your reports and how much stock you enter. See What's the difference between counting mix stock by bottles or by mixes?.
