How to add a new vintage of a wine

Copy an existing wine into a new vintage with New vintage, then update the vintage details.

Each vintage is a separate product in WithWine, with its own stock, prices and reporting. New vintage copies an existing wine into a new product for the new year, so you don't have to enter everything again.

What gets copied

  • Everything on the wine is copied, including the name, descriptions, photo, Full Price, Available Prices, Online Availability, details and awards.

  • Stock isn't copied. The new vintage starts with no stock.

Add a new vintage

  1. Go to Settings > Products > Bottles.

  2. Find the wine and click New vintage in the Actions column.

  3. In the New vintage pop-up, choose the year for the new vintage.

  4. Click Continue once.

  5. Open the new vintage from the list and update anything that's different for this year, such as prices, Vintage notes, tasting notes and awards.

  6. Add stock for the new vintage. See How to adjust or transfer stock for a wine.

  7. Click Save.

What happens next

  • The new vintage appears in the list as a separate product. The old vintage stays as it was. When you've sold out of the old vintage, you can archive it. See How to archive or delete a product.
