Add a venue for each physical place where you sell, such as your cellar door, a tasting room, a pop-up event or a wine festival. POS sales, stock and customer visits are all tracked against the venue.
Before you start
You need the venue's full address. The address is required. Stripe card terminals won't work at a venue without an address, and the address is used to calculate tax for in-person and pickup orders.
Decide which stock location the venue sells from. Several venues can share one stock location. To add a new stock location first, see How to add a stock location.
Add a venue
Go to Settings > Venues.
Click + Add Venue at the top right. If you don't have any venues yet, the venue form opens straight away.
In Location title, type the venue's name, for example Cellar Door.
In Address, start typing the venue's address. A list of matching addresses appears.
Click the correct address in the list. WithWine fills in Street, City, State, Postcode (ZIP code in the US) and Country under Address Details.
Check the Address Details. Street, Postcode and Country are required. Correct anything that's wrong.
In Stock location, choose the stock location this venue sells from.
(Optional) To let customers collect orders here, tick Website orders can be picked up here, Club orders can be picked up here, or both.
(Optional) To show the venue on the WithWine app map, tick Customers can visit this venue, then fill in Contact phone and Opening hours, and choose Drop In or By Appointment.
Leave Order Preparation empty unless you prepare food or drinks to order at this venue.
Click Save at the bottom of the page.
What happens next
WithWine shows the message Venue [name] has been successfully saved. and the venue appears in the list on the Venues page.
POS users can log in to the venue. POS sales at the venue take stock from the venue's stock location, and each sale records that the customer visited the venue.
Troubleshooting
The venue won't save. Check that Location title, Street, Postcode and Country are filled in.
The card terminal doesn't work at the venue. Check that the venue has a full address in Settings > Venues.
POS stock levels look wrong. Check which stock location is chosen in the venue's Stock location field.
