How to offer free shipping over a set amount

Give customers free shipping when their order reaches a set amount, such as $200 or more.

You can give customers free shipping once their order reaches a set amount, for example $200 or more. You do this with an order contents rule and a $0 shipping rate at the top of your rates list.

Before you start

  • Your shipping zones should already be set up.

Step 1: Create the order contents rule

  1. Go to Settings > My Brand > Shipping.

  2. Next to Order contents rules, click Edit.

  3. Click Add Order Contents Rule.

  4. In Rule Name, type $200 or more.

  5. Leave Applies To as Entire Cart.

  6. In Min. Order Total, enter 200.

  7. Click Done, then click Save.

Step 2: Add a $0 shipping rate

  1. Go to Settings > My Brand > Shipping. Next to Rates, click Edit.

  2. Click Add Rate.

  3. Tick the shipping zone that should get free shipping, for example Australia (or United States) for the whole country.

  4. Tick the $200 or more order contents rule.

  5. Enter 0 for Bottle, Other and Gift Card, with Per order selected.

  6. Click Done.

  7. Click the up arrow until this rate is at the top of the list.

  8. Click Save.

What happens next

Orders of $200 or more get free shipping straight away. Orders under $200 skip this rate and use the next matching rate in the list.

The minimum includes the amount you enter, so an order of exactly $200 gets free shipping. The order total is the final value of the order after discounts, not including shipping.

Troubleshooting

Orders over $200 are still charged shipping. The free shipping rate isn't at the top of the list. WithWine uses the first rate that matches, so move the free shipping rate above your other rates and click Save.

Every order is getting free shipping. Check the free rate has the $200 or more rule ticked. A $0 rate with no rule ticked applies to every order.
