Who receives an email campaign depends on the screen you start the email from. The same email design can reach different people depending on that choice.
Emails started from the Customers screen
Only customers subscribed to your mailing list receive the email.
Unsubscribed customers are left out automatically, even if you tick them.
The email button shows how many subscribed customers will receive the email, for example Email Filtered Subscribers or Email 3 Subscribers.
To on the Email Details step shows "Selected customers" and the number of subscribers.
Emails started from the Club Members screen
Every club member in your filter or selection receives the email, whether or not the member is subscribed to your mailing list.
The Club Members screen opens showing Active members only. If you change the status filter to include paused or cancelled members, those members are included.

Emails started from the Emails screen
Create Newsletter Template on the Emails screen creates a template only, with no recipients. To send the template, start an email from the Customers or Club Members screen and choose the template under Your Templates.
Saved templates and recipients
A template saved from a club email is a club template. If you start an email from the Customers screen and choose a club template, To can change to club members. Always check To on the Email Details step before sending.
