Tap to Pay on iPhone lets your staff take contactless card payments on an iPhone running Vintner, with no separate card reader. Customers tap their card, phone or watch on the back of the iPhone.
Available with WithWine in: Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
Why WithWine recommends Tap to Pay on iPhone
Service at the table. Staff can take an order and the payment where the customer is sitting, instead of asking the customer to come up to the bar or counter.
A modern retail experience. Like an Apple Store, staff move around the cellar door with the iPhone and check customers out anywhere.
Less hardware. There's no reader to charge, pair or replace.
More checkout points on busy days. Any staff member with an iPhone running Vintner can take payments.
What you need
An iPhone running iOS 26 or later. That's an iPhone 11, iPhone SE (2nd generation) or newer. Tap to Pay on iPhone doesn't work on iOS beta versions.
The latest version of the Vintner app.
An internet connection.
Location access for Vintner. In the Settings app, tap Vintner and set Location to While Using the App.
Tap to Pay on iPhone doesn't work on iPad. To take card payments with Vintner on an iPad, use a card reader. See Which card readers does WithWine support?.
What Tap to Pay on iPhone accepts
Tap to Pay on iPhone accepts contactless cards and digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. It doesn't accept chip-and-PIN insertion or magnetic stripe swipes, so keep a card reader handy for customers whose card isn't contactless.
